Park Avenue
I experienced this scene firsthand while visiting Arches National Park. I wanted to emphasize the dramatic diagonals created by the sweeping sky and the empty riverbank etched into the rock, despite the horizon remaining parallel to the picture plane. These contrasting directions create movement within an otherwise expansive and quiet landscape. While the detail and texture in this painting cannot fully capture the awe-inspiring beauty I experienced at Arches, it serves as my attempt to translate it onto the canvas.
